WHY A BOXER

The boxer originated from Germany and were used as security dogs in both world Wars, but in other countries they were also used to hunt bears, boars, and deer because of their strength and muscle.

Due to their protective nature, the police have used them as police dogs, and even as guide dogs for the blind!

They are intelligent, loyal, energetic, active and athletic. The boxer is an ideal family pet due to their playful loving nature, and are very protective. They are a sociable dog and don’t like being left alone for long periods of time, but are very funny at times and like to entertain!

Their coat is short so minimum grooming is needed, and their size is classed as medium to large breed with a life expectancy between 10 and 12 years.

Here at Pure Pups we have two red and white boxer girls: Poppy  (with a tail),  & Millie (Bobtail – born with it). Both are gentle, caring attentive mums. Poppy likes a lot of fuss and loves socialising! Millie is a calm girl, confident and very loyal. Both have fantastic temperaments and are very good mums.
